Identify key features of optimal lumbar posture, joint centration, stabilization and function, including lumbopelvic control strategies.
Explain how developmental kinesiology influences optimal vs. non-optimal lumbar patterns and common compensations.
Perform a DNS-based assessment of the lumbar spine (observation, key tests, movement strategy identification, and clinical prioritization).
Apply DNS manual techniques to facilitate joint centration, stabilization and appropriate muscle activation in multiple developmental positions.
Select the most appropriate developmental position for a given presentation, and progress/regress positions based on clinical findings and response.
Design and cue corrective exercise progressions for lumbar control using DNS principles (dosage, progression criteria, common errors and corrections).
Apply the DNS approach to common lumbar conditions, including non-specific low back pain, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, etc.
Use DNS for sports rehabilitation and performance training, maintaining proper lumbar joint centration under load, speed and fatigue. Address participant cases and Q&A using DNS clinical reasoning and practical decision-making.
