Course objectives:

 

Review of developmental kinesiology and DNS principles, in the context of optimal adult posture and Pilates technique and instruction.

Define and analyse global movement patterns in DNS and Pilates systems 

Detailed analysis of muscle co-activation in differentiated movement patterns (contralateral and ipsilateral) as they occur in DNS and Pilates exercises

Demonstrate and practice DNS exercises in higher developmental positions – oblique sit, tripod, differentiated bear, differentiated squat, lunge, step up, and appropriate modifications. 

Detailed analysis and practice of ipsilateral and contralateral patterns in all movement planes in the Pilates exercise system. 

Understand the importance and practice of training body awareness in developmental positions and Pilates exercises.

Clearly define dynamic stabilisation and joint centration goals within Pilates exercises and transitions

Practice and instruct joint centration throughout the entire kinetic chain and complete range of motion, in DNS and Pilates exercises

Analyse and practice how the base of support changes on the floor (mat) and apparatus and throughout an exercise/movement

Discuss the importance of incorporating sagittal stabilisation and adequate proportions of ipsilateral and contralateral patterns into Pilates exercise programs.

PS Registration Fee: 100 EUR

Prague School registration fee helps

to support DNS scientific activities,

to collect new video/photo material,

to develop the DNS handouts and publishing activities,

to present the DNS system at the scientific congresses, and

to present the DNS concept online.

It is not a payment for the course. Please contact the local organizer to secure your enrollment in the course and make sure that the course is not full, prior to paying Prague School registration fee. Once your PS fee is completed, your registration will automatically be sent to the course organizer. After that, payment of course fees can be made with the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to request proof of licensure.

The Prague School registration fee is non-refundable.

Without your online registration and PS fee payment you will not be permitted to attend any DNS course nor will you receive the Prague School Certificate of Attendance; thus you cannot take the DNS test and you will not be allowed to register for later advanced courses.

Upon you registration and payment, you will receive an automatic email with a link to download the course notes. This email goes to the email address you provide during your payment procedure. If you do not receive this email within one hour after a payment, please contact info@rehabps.com and request the course notes. Hard copies will not be available at the host location.
