Course objectives:

 

Review the physiological framework of DNS principles.

Detailed definition of optimal postural stabilization, stepping forward (reaching, grasping, kicking) and supporting (taking off) function 

DPractice and instruct Sagittal Stabilization (SS) and differentiated movement patterns in DNS and Pilates progressions with specific attention to: respiration, relaxation in muscle activation and the importance of isolated movement in all joints

Discuss the impact of long term muscle imbalance and faulty movement. 

Description of common imbalances, dysfunctions and degenerative conditions of the upper extremity, lower extremity and spine. 

Detailed analysis of spine and pelvic dysfunctions, including nonspecific lower back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain.

Detailed analysis of upper extremity dysfunctions, including rotator cuff, impingements, tendinitis, epicondylitis.

Define neutral position of scapula on chest, physiological scapulohumeral rhythm and how these influence the dynamic function of the gleno-humeral joint, cervical spine and thoracic spine.

Detailed analysis of lower extremity dysfunctions including groin pain, FAI, ACL injury, meniscus lesions, jumper's knee, foot disorders.

Define neutral position of the hip joint and the importance of maintaining isolated movement of the hip to lumbar and thoracic spine and the alignment of diaphragm and pelvic floor.

Analysis and practice of how DNS and Pilates exercise systems can be utilised to correct muscle imbalances and movement dysfunctions with emphasis on correct direction of muscle pull.

Integration of DNS corrective exercise principles within Pilates exercise cues (verbal and tactile) and within Pilates programming, with attention to musculoskeletal dysfunctions and injuries.

PS Registration Fee: 80 EUR

Prague School registration fee helps

to support DNS scientific activities,

to collect new video/photo material,

to develop the DNS handouts and publishing activities,

to present the DNS system at the scientific congresses, and

to present the DNS concept online.

It is not a payment for the course. Please contact the local organizer to secure your enrollment in the course and make sure that the course is not full, prior to paying Prague School registration fee. Once your PS fee is completed, your registration will automatically be sent to the course organizer. After that, payment of course fees can be made with the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to request proof of licensure.

The Prague School registration fee is non-refundable.

Without your online registration and PS fee payment you will not be permitted to attend any DNS course nor will you receive the Prague School Certificate of Attendance; thus you cannot take the DNS test and you will not be allowed to register for later advanced courses.

Upon you registration and payment, you will receive an automatic email with a link to download the course notes. This email goes to the email address you provide during your payment procedure. If you do not receive this email within one hour after a payment, please contact info@rehabps.com and request the course notes. Hard copies will not be available at the host location.
